Two Groups Fight Over Whatsapp Statussupporting Bjp; Two Injured, Five Held | Noida News – Times of India

Noida: Two persons sustained serious injuries during a fight between two groups over the WhatsApp status of a 22-year-old youth in Noida’s Sector 63 on February 10. Five persons have been arrested in connection with the case, police said on Saturday.
According to police, Virendra Chaudhuri (22), a resident of Sector 63, had uploaded a post in support of the BJP on his WhatsApp status. “The new status invited adverse comments from one of his friends, Salim Pasha, This led to a heated argument between them and the two called up their friends and decided to meet later that evening to sort out the issue,” said Dharmendra Kumar Shuklathe station house officer (SHO) of the Sector 63 police station.
Both the groups met in Ghaziabad later that evening after voting concluded for the first phase of UP assembly elections.
“Chaudhury had come with his three friends while Pasha was there with 7-8 people. Again a heated argument broke out between the two groups and then they attacked each other in which Chaudhuri and his friend Ravi Kumar sustained serious injuries,” Shukla said.
The two were immediately hastened to a private hospital, and their condition is said to be critical, the SHO said. Though Pasha and his friends managed to escape from the spot, five persons were arrested following a police complaint by Chaudhury’s friends.
“A case has been registered against Pasha and seven others under IPC sections 147 (rioting) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), and Section 66 of the IT Act. We have arrested five people so far, including Pasha. Efforts are on nab the others,” he added.
