Palakkad: After blackmailing a minor girl, two people were arrested here on Thursday for drugging and raping her for over two years. police gave this information.
The case was registered under various provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act after the girl’s mother filed a petition to the Chief Minister and the state police chief.
police have arrested Naufli (45) and aspirant (26), a native of Chalissery, near here.
Police said, “The girl gave her statement that she was blackmailed, given drugs and sexually assaulted. We have arrested two accused. The third person will be arrested soon.”
Police is also probing the role of other accused.
As per the complaint, the girl was blackmailed by a gang, who forced her to use drugs and raped her since 2019. She was a minor then.
A special team has been constituted under the leadership of Deputy SP Shoranur to investigate the matter.
