New Delhi: TV actress Nikki TambolikThe actor, who rose to fame after starring in Bigg Boss 14, has become a beloved personality among the audience and has a huge following on social media. Apart from TV shows, he has further expanded his fan base in hit music videos like ‘Shanti’, ‘Number Likh’. Now, he is all set to let fans watch him in the adventure-reality TV show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 11’ hosted by Rohit Shetty.
The actress, who recently experienced a personal tragedy, showed great strength and resilience, choosing to dedicate herself to her work. In a recent interview, Nikki opened up about her experience shooting for the show in Cape Town with her friends and fellow contestants Shweta Tiwari and Divyanka Tripathi and how she pulled herself after the tragic demise of her brother. .
Here are some excerpts from the interview:
> This is your second consecutive reality show, what is it about the format that you love?
a. In reality shows, you get a chance to be real. I don’t know how many people stay true to themselves, especially in this industry, where people are so image-conscious (not everyone but some), and I like to be real in the face, so doing reality shows gives me An opportunity to be genuine and entertain your fans.
> You will be seen doing some great stunts in the show. Any particular fears that you were able to overcome?
A none. I didn’t go there to allay my fears. To be honest, you cannot overcome fear in one or two attempts, it takes years, sometimes even a lifetime. There was no such scenario as ‘overcoming fear’ for me. It was all about the experience, how much I enjoyed it, did I even try, how much I entertained my fans. This one month of my life has been the best time of my life. Though I didn’t think I would be able to enjoy myself that much because I had just lost my brother and I went with the thought that I will not talk to anyone, I will keep crying, but no… nothing like that happened. Things were the opposite and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
> Your commitment towards work is commendable. You shot Khatron Ke Khiladi 11 when you were battling a personal tragedy, the death of your brother. How did you cope during that period?
A. There is something called passion and I am very passionate about my profession. I love acting and if it is a reality show, there is nothing like it. I just like reality shows. Then come commitments. If you are passionate about your work then you will never go back on your commitments. I remember I told my brother that I would do Khatron Ke Khiladi and he was very excited. He knows that I am scared of a lot of things but he told me that he is sure that the way I entertained my fans in Bigg Boss 14, I will do the same here. He never asked me to win Bigg Boss 14 or Khatron Ke Khiladi. His motto was… ‘You go and let go and your fans will see how entertaining you are’. Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi are completely different formats and I wanted my fans to see both my avatars. I was very focused that I have to go because if my brother was alive, he would have sent me, he would come! So, why shouldn’t I go when my brother isn’t around? My brother is no more, he wanted me to go (for Khatron Ke Khiladi). Whether he is alive or dead, I cannot let him down.
> Who were your pillars of support in Khatron Ke Khiladi 11 shoot?
A. Abhinav Shukla, Aastha Gill, Arjun Bijlani. It was easy to mingle with Abhinav as we have worked together. we are very good friends. Aastha and Arjun too. It is so sweet to him that he accepted me as I am and even though I could not do some stunts. He was always very supportive.
> How was your equation with Shweta Tiwari and Divyanka Tripathi, two of the industry’s most senior female stars in the Khatron Ke Khiladi 11 gang?
A. Divyanka (Tripathi) and Shweta (Tiwari) are super cool. Shweta, I think it is very interesting because she has a great sense of humour. On the other hand, Divyanka is very bold. She is so inspiring in the sense that she will never say ‘it won’t happen’, she will just go for it and win it. He’s fab! They are both very entertaining and loving.
> You kept teasing the fans with the pictures of the shoot. While you got a lot of love, there is positivity as well as negativity on social media. Are you influenced by trolls?
I love my fans. Actually, I would like to give my love to the trollers. To be honest, I believe in giving love after losing my brother. You can’t hold onto negative things or hate trolls. I just want to spread positivity.
> Because of your carefree attitude and outspoken nature, many people sometimes misunderstand you as rude or windy around you. Does that bother you?
A. No, it doesn’t bother me. People who have worked with me and my friends know exactly who I am. In this industry, everyone talks to each other to get feedback about an individual and to gain work experience with them. And people always talk nice about me. He says things like ‘I am the humblest person he has worked with’. What else do I need! I got that image because of Bigg Boss. The audience didn’t tag me with that image. The contestants had categorized and tagged me in this way and thus the audience got a hint. But if I was that bad then the audience would not have voted for me to be in the top 3.
> Are you in touch with your ‘Bigg Boss 14’ show host Salman Khan?
A Not really. But I would love to do a film with Salman sir, I am just waiting for an opportunity.
> You recently talked about not having time for a casual relationship. So, are you seeing someone and considering a serious offer?
I’m not looking at anyone. After losing my brother, I have become very serious about my life and I don’t want to ruin anyone’s life. I don’t have time for casual relationships.
