Two aides of former Maharashtra minister Anil Deshmukh arrested in money laundering case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested two associates of former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh in a money laundering case against the politician on charges of bribery of Rs 100 crore, officials said on Saturday.

He said Mr Deshmukh’s personal secretary Sanjeev Palande and personal assistant Kundan Shinde have been arrested under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) after nearly nine hours of interrogation.

He alleged that the two were not cooperating during the interrogation held at the Central Investigation Agency’s office at Ballard Estate in Mumbai.
