The duo, along with Redlawr’s wife Shanaz, had killed their activist Chandu Kamble and his wife with cold blood with a knife after a heated argument on August 17, 2011. Kamble was demanding his pending salary for three months.
The three accused were arrested and later convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment for the double murder. However, after being released on parole on May 5, 2013, Redlawar and Sakharkar escaped and did not return to Nagpur jail, where they were serving a life sentence.

Meanwhile, LCB PSI got tip-off about absconding convicts residing with changed names and identities in Ponala village of Adilabad district of Telangana. Under this a trap was laid and both were arrested. Investigation revealed that Redlawr had changed his name to Nagesh Madavi and Sunil Sakharkar had changed his name to Sunil Madavi and was residing in Punala village of Adilabad district with the changed identity.
Both the arrested have been handed over to the Ghugus police for further action.
