Twitter’s action on Rahul Gandhi: Congress leader’s tweet removed, shared photo of parents of Delhi Cantt rape victim

Twitter has removed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s tweet in which the identities of the family members of a minor victim of rape and murder were being exposed. In this tweet, he shared the picture of meeting the family members of the victim. The microblogging site says this is a violation of its rules.

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) had complained to Delhi Police and Twitter regarding this tweet. The NCPCR had sought action against Rahul for posting the picture of the victim’s family. The commission said that this is a violation of the Juvenile Justice Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POSCO) Act.

Rahul Gandhi had met the victim’s family on Wednesday. After this he said that this family wants justice, they do not want anything else. They say that justice is not being done to them, so they need help. We will stand with them till they get justice.

Politics heats up to reveal identity
Politics has heated up in the matter of revealing the identity of the victim. Rajasthan BJP state officials and workers reached Ashok Nagar police station in Jaipur on Friday to register an FIR against Rahul Gandhi. But the police refused to file a report citing the incident at another place. On this the party workers protested against the Congress leader and the administration.

The girl had gone to get water from the water cooler of the crematorium
This case is of Old Nangal village of Delhi Cantt. Where a 9-year-old Dalit girl who went to get water from the water cooler of the crematorium was raped and murdered. In this case 4 people including the priest of the temple located in the crematorium, Radheshyam are accused. The girl’s mother says that the accused also performed the last rites of the girl without her consent.

The priest and some of his companions had called the girl’s family and told that the girl had died due to electrocution while filling water from the water cooler. He told the girl’s mother not to tell the police or else the postmortem of the girl would be done and her organs would be removed. Saying this, the accused had hurriedly performed the last rites of the girl. The police have arrested four people including Pujari.
