Twitter is testing new privacy feature to remove followers without blocking them

Social media giant Twitter has started testing a new privacy feature for its platform that will allow users to remove followers without blocking them.

This ‘soft block’ feature is almost similar to the privacy feature of Instagram named ‘Close Friends’.

According to The Verge, the Remove Follower feature is currently being tested on the web and it canonizes the ‘soft block’ concept as the official Twitter tool.

The company announced this test through an official tweet. Through the new feature, the micro-blogging site will allow its users to remove followers from the list of followers on their profile page.

As for Tweets, you’ll need to click the three-dot menu next to a follower’s name, click ‘Remove follower’, and your Tweets will no longer automatically appear in their timeline.

This feature is way better than just blocking someone from your Twitter handle.
