Twitter Faces Global Outage Again

New Delhi: Micro-blogging platform Twitter suffered a major outage globally on Wednesday, with users reporting that the site’s timeline was not loading on the web or mobile apps. According to outage monitor website Down Detector, more than 56 percent of people reported problems when using an application, 37 percent when using a website, and 7 percent with server connections.

Last month, the microblogging site also faced a global outage. However, the company fixed the “trouble” that many iOS users had experienced earlier. The company tweeted from its @TwitterSupport account: “Sorry for the interruption! iOS users may have experienced some issues using Twitter at first. Things should be back to normal now.”

So far, there’s no word from Twitter support about the outage, but the site has become increasingly messy since Elon Musk’s acquisition and widespread layoffs. Twitter has now reduced the number of employees from 7,500 to less than 2,000.

Earlier on February 24, global users reported not being able to open Twitter on their mobile devices. Tracking site downdetector.in had observed a major spike from midnight to 2.00 am on February 19. Twitter came to a standstill for more than 2 hours in many parts of the world.
