Tushar Mehta gets 2nd extension as Solicitor General; will represent Centre for another 3 years

New Delhi: The Government of India on Friday reappointed Tushar Mehta as the Solicitor General of India.

Mehta will continue in this post for the next 3 years as the government has extended his tenure for the second time.

Tushar was appointed as the Solicitor General of India in 2018. He got his first extension in 2020.

The Personnel Ministry said in a notification that Mehta will be reappointed to his post with effect from July 01.

Besides Mehta, the government has reappointed senior advocates Vikramjit Banerjee, KM Natarajan, Balbir Singh, SV Raju, N Venkataraman and Aishwarya Bhati as additional solicitors general.
