Out of 5,03,570 students registered to appear for Telangana 10th examination, 4,53,201 students have passed. The pass percentage is the lowest in three years with 90% of the students passing TS SSC. Not only has there been a huge drop of 10 per cent marks as compared to the last year, when 100% of all students were promoted, but the pass percentage has also gone down since 2019 – when TSBSE last conducted the board exams.
Since for the last two years, the Telangana Board is not conducting the examination, it seems that the result reflects the reality of learning among the students after two years of school closure and online classes. Telangana Board has decided to conduct two-hour classes daily for the failing students. Its purpose is to cover learning losses.
On the basis of gender, girls have performed better than boys as 92% of girls have passed the exam, while 87% of boys have cleared it.
For students who will not clear their exams, advanced supplementary examinations will be conducted from August 1 to August 10.
