Tourists have started turning to the mountains to escape the scorching heat falling in the plains of the country. On weekends, Shimla, Naldehra, Green-Valley, Kufri, Narkanda, Fagu, Mahasu, Chail and Kasoli are visited by a large number of tourists.

Most of them are tourists from neighboring states of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi. Tourists will start arriving from the states like West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, MP etc. after the school holidays in the plains states next month. Compared to these tourist places of Shimla and Solan, Manali, Dharamsala, McLodhganj and Dalhousie are getting less tourists now, because these tourist places usually come for four to five days.

Advance booking starts: Sohan

Chiyog’s home-stay operator Sohan Thakur said that from now on, advance booking for the month of May has started. The tourist season will be in full swing in May and June. He told that today there is 60 to 70 percent occupancy on weekends. After staying in the hotel for the night, in the morning, the tourists go out on trekking among the dense forests of deodar and are enjoying the pleasant weather.

The maximum temperature dropped in these cities after the rain

After rain and snowfall, Shimla’s maximum temperature has come down from 27 degrees to 24.2 degrees Celsius. Similarly, the temperature of Una has come down from 42 degrees to 38 degrees, in Solan from 34 degrees to 31 degrees, in Nahan from 36 to 32 degrees, in Mandi from 35 to 31 degrees and in Chamba from 36 degrees to 31.3 degrees.
