Top Gun Maverick Box Office Collection: Tom Cruise starrer ‘Top Gun Maverick’ and Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Anek’, two new films released in theaters this week. Both the projects are facing stiff competition from Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani and Tabu’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Starring Hollywood star Tom Cruise, “Top Gun: Maverick” is the legacy sequel to Tony Scott’s original 1986 film, operating in 4,735 locations in the US. Not only overseas, but the film is trying its best to strengthen its hold at the Indian box office. The film has already raked in over $250 million worldwide on its opening weekend, all thanks to Memorial Day weekend in the United States. If estimates for “Maverick” continue to expand, the film could become the best Memorial Day debut of all time, beating the $153 million debut of Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” in 2007. And a holiday weekend ahead, ‘Maverick’ still has plenty of room to grow.

For the film, Cruise reunited with “Oblivion” director Joseph Kosinski for “Top Gun: Maverick.” Val Kilmer reprises his role as the antagonist “Iceman” for the sequel, while Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm and Ed Harris also star.
