In the 1990s, Divya made the audience crazy on the basis of her acting and innocent face in Bollywood. Because of her young age, she was also called the doll of Bollywood. Born on 25 February 1974, Divya Bharti died on 5 April 1993 under suspicious circumstances. Today 29 years have been completed for Divya’s death. Mumbai Police has closed the case related to the investigation of death in 1998 itself. The police closed the case assuming that it was an accident.

Divya was not from any film family. Father Omprakash Bharti was an officer in the insurance company and mother Mita Bharti was a housewife. Divya studied till 9th ​​class only. Leaving studies at the age of 14, she started modeling.

Govinda’s brother Kirti Kumar had signed Divya for his film ‘Radha Ka Sangam’. But due to some reason Divya was dropped from the film and Juhi Chawla acted in her place. Divya started her film career with the Telugu film ‘Bobbili Raja’. The film was a super hit and made Divya a superstar in the South film industry. Then Rajiv Rai cast Divya opposite Sunny Deol in ‘Vishvatma’. The song ‘Saat Samandar Paar Main Tere Peeche Peeche Aa Gayi…’ from this film is still popular today.

In 1992, Divya’s films had brought her to the heights of fame. Shah Rukh Khan made his debut with Divya in 1992 with the film Deewana. At that time Divya was only 18 years old. The film became a huge hit. Later, Divya surprised everyone by marrying filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala.

It is said that after marrying Sajid, Divya was often under stress. Due to this stress, he started drinking alcohol. She was still under the influence of alcohol the night she died.

According to reports, on 5 April 1993, Divya returned home from Chennai in Versova, Mumbai. He was supposed to go to Hyderabad, but the shooting was postponed due to a leg injury. Fashion designer Neeta Lulla had reached Divya’s house with her husband Dr. Shyam Lulla. All three were drinking together. Divya’s maid Amrita was also in the house. Divya was sitting on the living room window with her feet outside. There was no grill on it. It opened towards the parking lot. While trying to get up, her hand slipped and she fell straight down from the 5th floor.

Neeta, Shyam and Amrita took them to Cooper Hospital, but Divya could not be saved. Some called it suicide and some a conspiracy. But nothing could be proved. After Divya’s death, three films ‘Rang’, ‘Shatranj’ and ‘Tholi Mudhu’ were released, in which Rang was a superhit.
