Section 144, security forces deployed, 40 nakas
Karnal SP Gangaram Punia said that the police is fully prepared to maintain law and order. Section-144 is applicable. 40 companies of security forces including paramilitary force have been deployed to prevent farmers from reaching the mini secretariat. 30 companies of police have been appointed. 10 companies of paramilitary force have been deployed separately. Duty of 5 SP and 25 HPS less DSP has been imposed. Water cannons and drones have also been deployed with them. Almost the entire part of the city is sealed. 18 nakas have been put up by the police. The roads leading from GT Road to the Mini Secretariat and from the city to the Mini Secretariat have been blocked. Police personnel had found trucks full of sand in the night itself, which have been blocked by putting them on the roads.

Route divert and less movement of buses
The operation and movement of roadways buses has been reduced. Dozens of buses are not being sent on their original routes since Monday night. Due to less number of buses, public will not be able to come to the city and there will be relief from the crowd. The district administration has diverted traffic on the Chandigarh-New Delhi National Highway to avoid inconvenience to the people. Traffic coming from Delhi on GT Road will be diverted from Panipat and traffic coming from Chandigarh side will be diverted from Kurukshetra itself. Four different routes have been made for the movement of vehicles.

Appeal to people not to come on National Highway
According to the order of DC Nishant Kumar Yadav, the traffic on New Delhi-Chandigarh Highway (National Highway-44) in the border of Karnal district will be disrupted due to the mahapanchayat of farmers. In such a situation, common people are advised to use this highway in the border of Karnal district only when it is extremely necessary. If people have to come on this highway due to urgent work and due to some reason the traffic is blocked, then alternate routes fixed by the district administration and police can be used. BKU and district administration meeting inconclusive
Let us inform that on Monday afternoon, a meeting was held between the leaders of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) and the administrative officers of Karnal in the Mini Secretariat, which was inconclusive. In this meeting, which lasted for one hour, DC Nishant Kumar Yadav, SP Gangaram Punia from the district administration and BKU state president Gurnam Singh Chaduni, district head Jagdeep Aulakh and 6 members from the farmers side attended. After the meeting, Chadhuni said that the district administration has offered a job at DC rate to the son of farmer Sushil Kajal, who was killed in the police lathicharge on August 30, which is not acceptable. The district administration did not discuss their other demands.

Court notice to 8 farmer organizations
A notice was issued to 8 farmer organizations on behalf of Karnal District Court on Monday. In the notice, Gurnam Singh Chaduni Group, Ajay Rana Group, Ratanman Group, Ganna Samiti, BKYU, IAF, etc. have been ordered not to take law in their own hands and not to cause damage to any government or private property. A notice was also issued to the DC and SP of Karnal on behalf of the court that there should be no inconvenience to the general public due to the Mahapanchayat. Appropriate arrangements should be made regarding this.

Lathi charge at Bastara toll plaza: what happened when
On August 28, the police had lathi-charged the farmers at Bastara toll plaza, in which many farmers were injured. It is alleged that Sushil Kajal, a farmer of Raipur Jatan village of Karnal, who was injured in the police lathi charge, died the next day. After that, on August 30, Bhakiyu had made three demands from the Haryana government by holding a mahapanchayat at Gharaunda Anaj Mandi. These included a compensation of Rs 25 lakh to the family of Sushil Kajal and a government job to a member, Rs 2 lakh compensation to the injured farmers and demand for action against the SDM, DSP and other policemen who ordered lathi charge. BKU state president Gurnam Singh Chadhuni had given an ultimatum to the government that if these three demands were not fulfilled by September 6, then on September 7, a mahapanchayat would be held in Karnal again and the mini secretariat would be gheraoed. But the meeting held on 6th September was in vain, as a result of which farmers are going to protest.
