To end the problem of black tickets, Andhra government launches booking portal

The Andhra Pradesh government led by Chief Minister YS Jagamohan Reddy has decided to end the problem of black tickets. The government has introduced a new online platform, through which cinema lovers will be able to book their tickets at affordable rates.

The government has also fixed the rates for the films. Movie lovers can now book movies on APFDC’s Portal Your Screens. Vijay Reddy, managing director of Andhra Pradesh Film Development Corporation, said, “This will help in finding out how many tickets were sold at what price, how much GST was collected, and other details, to check tax evasion.”

“Other portals refuse to charge an additional Rs 20-25 per ticket,” an official said. An MoU has been signed between APFDC and the film exhibitor that the collection received by the portal for the film on daily basis will be credited to the exhibitor.

The earlier agreements between film exhibitors and online portals for online sale of tickets will not be terminated. The government does not want a monopoly on any web portal. Recently, Competition Commission India Issued an order regarding an online web portal for online sale of movie tickets.

The government also said that cine lovers are free to choose any portal but if they opt for APFDC they will book tickets at a much lower cost than others. “The government has been working hard for some time now to make available movie tickets to all. For this initiative, several meetings and discussions were held with many cine personalities. ,

Further, he said, “the government has made it clear that it will implement transparent rates through this portal.” Speaking to the media, APFDC MP Vijay Kumar Reddy said, “Theater owners should only apply the prices fixed by the government. For that we are providing online system.
