Gurucharan Singh had earlier revealed that he was approached for Bigg Boss 15 and Bigg Boss OTT.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s Sodhi, aka Gurucharan Singh, went missing on April 22. Ever since, family members, co-stars and fans have been worried for him. However, did you know that the actor was once approached for Salman Khan’s popular reality show, Bigg Boss? In an earlier interview, Gurucharan had shared that he was in talks for season 15 of Bigg Boss. He had also said that he was approached for Bigg Boss OTT.
Speaking to ETimes TV in 2021, Gurucharan said, “They (makers) told me that they want me in Bigg Boss, so when last time I came to Mumbai I told them let’s meet, and they were telling me that they want to meet in Film City. So, I said let’s go to Film City no problem but then they said that they couldn’t meet at that time, but they could meet later on. So, I told them I’m going back, then it is not possible. I don’t know, they wanted me in Bigg Boss, whether it is true or not I don’t know.”
The actor had quit Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah only a year before this, in 2020. He told E Times that his father had undergone surgery around the time he quit the show. He added that “there were a few other things I had to address and life went on”. When asked if he quit the show due to payment related issues, he said, “Hum pyaar mohabbat se aage badhna pasand karna chahte hain (I want to move forward with love and respect)”.
Meanwhile, in the case of his disappearance, according to India Today, the probe in the case revealed that Gurucharan “was soon to get married and was struggling with financial difficulties.” The report added, “He left his home for the airport in Delhi, but never took the route.” It has also been revealed that the actor, who played the role of Roshan Singh Sodhi, was seen roaming through the streets of Delhi with a backpack and reportedly withdrew Rs 7000 from an ATM in Delhi before he went missing.
The actor’s phone’s last known location, as per his phone, was Delhi. He was in the city until April 24. His phone has been switched off ever since. He was last traced near his house in Palam.
On Friday, it was reported that Gurucharan’s father filed a missing complaint which read, “My son Gurucharan Singh, Age: 50 years, had left at 8:30 am on 22nd April to go to Mumbai. He went to the airport to catch a flight. He didn’t reach Mumbai, neither has he returned home and his phone is not reachable. He is mentally stable and we had been searching for him but now he has been missing.”
Sodhi’s close friend Ms Soni also spoke to Pinkvilla when she revealed that the actor had been unwell for the last few days and had even undergone a few tests. She also shared that Sodhi wasn’t eating properly for the last few days.
