Disha Wakani as Dayaben, Shailesh Lodha as Taarak Mehta
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is undoubtedly one of the most popular sitcoms on Indian TV. Running for over a decade, the show has some very famous characters like Dayaben and Tarak Bhai. However, now both the characters have left the show. While Disha Vakani, who plays Dayaben, has not been a part of TMKOC since 2015, Shailesh Lodha aka Taarak Mehta left the show after being associated with it for almost 14 years.
Disha Vakani aka Dayaben to be replaced
It was earlier said that Disha Vakani would return to the show and reprise her role as Dayaben. However, recently there has been talk of taking a new actor in his place. the creator Asit Modi recently confirmed that Disha will not enter the show as Dayaben And they will introduce a new face for the role. No name has surfaced yet.
No clarity on Shailesh Lodha’s character
Last month in May, it was reported that Shailesh Lodha is leaving TMKOC as he has not been able to explore other opportunities coming his way due to the show and he turned down many of them. But he didn’t want to waste any more time and wanted to say ‘no’ to any new offer that came his way. Soon after, he announced to be a part of a show called ‘Waah Bhai Waah’, He has also started shooting for it. There has been talk of replacing Dayaben’s character, but nothing has been said about Taarak Mehta’s character yet.
