Congress Seems Upset With TMC List Release

As soon as TMC released their list, the Congress said they wanted to discuss and agree on a fair arrangement for sharing seats with the Trinamool Congress. They emphasized that such agreements should be made through discussions and a mutual agreement, not by one party making decisions alone.

The Indian National Congress has always wanted to join forces with the INDIA Alliance to fight against the BJP.

Yusuf Pathan Will Contest From Baharampur

In their list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, the Trinamool Congress chose to not nominate eight sitting MPs. Instead, they introduced new faces like former cricketers Yusuf Pathan and Kirti Azad. Yusuf Pathan will run for the Baharampur Lok Sabha seat, while Kirti Azad will compete in the Bardhaman-Durgapur constituency.

In the Basirhat Lok Sabha seat, where Sandeshkhali is located, the TMC selected its former MP Haji Nurul Islam, replacing the current MP Nusrat Jahan.

The TMC also decided to re-nominate expelled Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra for another term from the Krishnanagar seat.
