Lok Sabha member and All India Congress Committee spokesperson and former Union Minister Manish Tewari has expressed concern over the smuggling of arms and drugs coming through drones from across the border in Amritsar. He has advised the Center to provide latest technology weapons to BSF. Tiwari was on a visit to Amritsar on Saturday and visited Darbar Sahib, Durgyana Mandir, Partition Museum besides the Employment Bureau office.

Tiwari demanded that the Center should bring in anti-drone technology to check drone smuggling from the outskirts of Punjab. For this, he has also written a letter to the Union Home Minister at his level. At the same time, he also expressed concern over the situation arising in Afghanistan. Tiwari said that the withdrawal of Taliban has given impetus to the separatist forces sitting in our neighboring country of Pakistan. This can cause great damage to our border states especially Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. MLA Sunil Dutti, Pawan Dewan, Jugal Kishore, Rajkanwalpreet Singh Lucky, Sanjay Kumar and other leaders were present on the occasion.

Tiwari said in favor of Captain
Attacking the Center, he said that the present government of Punjab, under the supervision of Captain, kept itself financially strong despite the negative attitude of the Center and the Corona crisis. The state government handled Punjab during this natural calamity. The Center used its full force to suppress Punjab by stopping the money of RDDF and GST. But under the leadership of CM, the blockades of the Center did not have any effect on Punjab. He said that the Chief Minister is serious and experienced and Punjab needs such leadership in the coming elections.

Center did not give minimum support price on sugarcane
Regarding the farmers sitting on dharna demanding increase in the price of sugarcane, Tiwari said that the central government has never given minimum support price on sugarcane. The price that the state governments release for sugarcane is reduced to just advice to the mills. Therefore, it is necessary that like the Center fixes the minimum support price for the remaining 22 crops, it should also fix the price of sugarcane. He said that we are with the farmers and our Members of Parliament have also presented resolutions against agricultural laws.
