Tired of spam emails? Learn how to protect yourself with the ‘Hide My Email’ feature on iPad or iPhone

Along with the ease of communication that technology has brought, it has also brought one of life’s most annoying problems – spam. Well, now technology is working towards fixing the problem it has created. Apple iCloud+ offers a feature called “Hide My Email” that allows users to create a unique email address for each site and, later, they forward those messages to your regular email account. To use the “Hide my email” feature, one must have an iCloud+ or Apple One subscription. An email address will be required to receive email on your device. Another important thing one should make sure is that their iPhone or iPad is turned on iOS 15 Or iPad 15 or high.

Here’s How You Can Use ‘Hide My Email’ on Your iPhone or iPad

Phase 1: Tap the gray gear icon, also known as the iPhone or iPad’s Settings

Phase 2: At the top of the Settings app, click your Apple ID name.

step 3: After clicking on the name, Apple ID settings will open, tap on “iCloud”.

step 4: In iCloud Settings, click “Hide my email”. If it doesn’t appear on the drop down, it means you are not subscribed to iCloud+ or Apple One.

Step 5: Now Settings will present a possible email address that is randomly generated. Click “Use a different address” if you don’t like the address, but tap “Continue” if you like the email address.

Step 6: On the next screen, type a label for the address you just generated. It is often suggested that you use the name of the service to which you will be providing the email address. Then, click ‘Next’ in the top right corner.

Step 7: Now, the settings will confirm that a unique random email address has been created. Once you tap on ‘Done’, the address you just created will be listed on the “Hide my email” screen.

Step 8: If you want to create another address, tap “Create New Address”.

Step 9: If you have more than one email address, click ‘Forward to’ whenever you want to select one of them. Once you tap ‘Forward to’, you will see a list of available email addresses. Choose the one you want to use, and it will be applied to all random email addresses you’ve created so far.

Now, whenever a service asks for your email address, just enter the random address provided by Apple. Now, you will receive email normally, but the only exception will be that the email will have “Hide my email” listed in the “To” field. Remember that if you reply to a forwarded email with “Hide my email,” the recipient will see a regular email address, not a random one.
