‘Time to Applied’: Riteish Deshmukh on Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files

Director Vivek Agnihotri’s film The Kashmir Files has given a good response at the box office. The film is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits during the 1990 armed rebellion in Kashmir. The film stars Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi in lead roles.

Actor Riteish Deshmukh is the latest celeb to watch the film and talk about it. “It is time to applaud a film which is continuously breaking records. A small film which is well on its way to become one of the biggest films of all time. Congratulations to Anupam Kher, Vivek Agnihotri and the entire team of The Kashmir Files for all the love and appreciation.”

Apart from Ritesh, many celebrities from Bollywood to politics appreciated the film. Yami Gautam Dhar, who is married to Aditya Dhar, a Kashmiri Pandit, wrote, “Being married to a Kashmiri Pandit, I know firsthand about the atrocities of this peace loving community. But much of the country is still ignorant. It took us 32 years and a film to know the truth. Please watch and support Kashmir Files.”

Union Minister Smriti Irani was also among those who are passionately and unequivocally supporting the film. He wrote, “Look… so that this history soaked in innocent blood never repeats itself The Kashmir Files.”

The film is also doing well at the box office. The film has so far collected 42 crores in the Indian market. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the film earned Rs 3.55 crore, Rs 8.50 crore and Rs 15.10 crore respectively and on Monday it collected over Rs 15 crore.
