Time for Chuck the Part 2? India’s real coach Sjoerd Marin asked ‘Reel’ coach Shahrukh Khan

Sjoerd Marijne, head coach of the Indian women’s hockey team, thanks Bollywood Team Star and Reel Coach Shah Rukh Khan And asked if there could be a part 2 of his hit film ‘Chak De India’.

Shah Rukh Khan had tweeted after India’s defeat, saying that the women’s team has all the reasons to keep their grip high.

“Heartbroken!!! But all the reasons to keep our heads held high. Well done Indian Women’s Hockey team. You all inspired everyone in India. It’s a win in itself,” he tweeted.

Quote-tweeting SRK’s post, the coach of the original Indian women’s hockey team said: “Thank you Shah Rukh for all the love! It’s great to have support from the best in Bollywood. It’s time for Chak De Part 2, what to say?”

Earlier, he tweeted that even though his team may not have won a medal at Tokyo 2020, his players achieved something big as they inspired the country to dream of success in the Olympics.

India lost 4-3 to Great Britain in a close encounter in the bronze medal playoff on Friday, despite backing out of a two-goal deficit. The team led 3тАУ2 at half-time, but the British came back strongly in the second half and denied them a historic medal in only their third appearance at the Olympics since women’s hockey made its debut in 1980 in Moscow.

Marijne’s team surprised everyone by defeating the mighty Australia, world No. 2, in the quarterfinals after a preliminary round exit, and although they lost to Argentina in the semi-finals and Great Britain, the team came up with an all of its own. The matches showcased fighting and more than a billion people applauded the effort.

Asked what was his message to the team after the loss, Marijne told the media that he told them that he was proud of his performance.

Normally when (d) Indian women’s team goes 2-0 down, it’s always 3-0, 4-0… but now they keep fighting. We came back in the match, we were one-ups too,” Marijne was quoted as saying by the International Hockey Federation (FIH).

He said that girls should be proud that they have achieved something bigger than a medal.

“And I said to the girls, ‘Listen, I can’t take your tears out. No words will help for that. We didn’t win a medal, but I think we’ve achieved something big, and it’s inspiring a nation. And making the country proud. And I have shown many messages from people who were saying that, and I think the world has seen another Indian team, and I am really proud of that.”
