Two injured soldiers were taken to the army hospital

Shopian: Three terrorists belonging to TRF were killed in an encounter in Chimer village of Kulgam in South Kashmir on Wednesday. Two army personnel were injured in the encounter.
An encounter broke out between the militants and the government forces in the village on Wednesday afternoon following a cordon and search operation by the government forces in search of the terrorists.
In the initial encounter, one terrorist was killed while two of his accomplices were hiding in a residential house. Later both were murdered.
The nine Rashtriya Rifles of the Army, the 18th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the police have cordoned off the village and launched a search operation, a police official said. He said that while the suspicious area was being cordoned off, the hiding militants opened fire on the joint team of government forces after the encounter. Three terrorists were killed in the encounter, while two Army personnel were injured during the exchange of fire and were taken to the Army’s 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar.
Police sources said two soldiers were injured on their way to the suspected spot and the hiding militant opened fire on them.
The slain terrorists have been identified as Waseem Ahmad Bangru, a resident of Redwani Kulgam, Shahnawaz Ahmed, a resident of Kilbal Shopian, and Zakir Bashir, a resident of Chimmar Kulgam. Police said that all the terrorists killed were linked to the TRF of Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Meanwhile, mobile internet was snapped in Kulgam district following reports of an encounter in the area.
