“We came to know that around 18 to 20 workers working in the godown lived in the building but only 3 to 4 were inside at the time of the incident and the rest were out for their work. The people living in the building are alive to clear the debris. For this three to four earth-mover machines are at work.” DCP, Manesar, Varun One, told IANS.
He said the reason behind the collapse of the building was not yet known.
“The rescue operation is on. NDRF and fire brigade teams along with the local police station are on the spot to provide all possible help to the victims,” ​​Singla said.
Fire department officials said that as a result of timely evacuation, casualties were avoided. “The building and its surroundings have been evacuated,” he said.
Meanwhile, locals said that the reason for the fall could be rain as it was raining in the area since morning.
