Three coaches of the Dadar-Puducherry Express (train number 11005) derailed near Matunga station in Mumbai on Friday night when the engine of the CSMT-Gadag Express collided from behind, a Central Railway official said. There is no news of any injury so far in the incident that took place around 9.30 pm.

The incident happened a day before the 169th anniversary of the first running of a passenger train in India. The Dadar-Puducherry Chalukya Express was entering the Down fast line from platform 7 of Dadar Terminus when the CSMT-Gadag Express, which departed at around 9.30 pm, hit it at a crossing from the rear, the official said.
