Three Calls To Victim’s Father From RG Kar Hospital Revealed

Kolkata: The parents of the trainee doctor at the RG Kar Medical Hospital were called on August 9 by the assistant superintendent of the institute informing them about her “unwell health” conditions and asking them to “hurry up” and come to see her. The call recording of the telephonic conversation has been accessed by India Today TV which reveals how the administration kept veiling the truth while beating around the bush in the three calls made to the family of the rape and murder victim who was by then declared dead.

As per the call recordings, the assistant superintendent of the RG Kar Medical Hospital initially stated that the 31-year-old trainee doctor was ill and quite critical. However, in the third call, she maintained that their daughter had died by suicide.

Calls from RG Kar Hospital

In the audio recording, the assistant superintendent can be heard frantically saying, “Your daughter is not well, can you please come to the hospital immediately?” Of course, nobody calls parents for normal sickness, so sensing something serious, the father asked for more details on it, to which the staff responded, “She is not well. We are admitting her. Can you come quickly?”

Frantic calls, clueless answers

After the bombardment of questions from the father’s end over this frantic conversation, the assistant superintendent can be heard as perturbed as she says, “The doctors will tell you what happened when you are here. We got your number and called you because you are family.”

In the second call, the family was informed that the condition of their daughter was very critical and that they should reach as soon as possible. Distressed father when asked about the doctor’s identity, got to know that the call was made by the assistant superintendent of the institute.

During the third call, the father was told that his daughter might have died by suicide. “The police are here. We are at the hospital, in front of everyone, making this call”, said the assistant superintendent.

Over the revelation of the three call recordings, the father of the deceased said that he doesn’t know how and from where these recordings went viral and he takes no responsibility of the same.
