Three persons were arrested after an elephant was electrocuted in Odisha’s Sundargarh district, police said on Friday. Bonai Divisional Forest Officer Sanath Kumar told that Jhagudu Bajuyan, Dussehra Bhuyan and Niranjan Sahu of Tendra village had laid an electric wire net to kill the wild boar.
Tusker was found dead in a trap near Tanker forest on Thursday. Kumar denied the poaching bid and said inspection of the scene indicated that the pachyderms had accidentally come into contact with live wire.
