An Ayodhya resident had received a phone call from an unknown person threatening to blow up the Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ayodhya, police said on Thursday.

The phone was received by Manoj, a resident of Ramkot area of ​​this district of Uttar Pradesh. He informed the police about the call on his mobile phone. According to the police, the caller threatened to blow up the temple premises at 10 am on Thursday.

As soon as the information was received, the police has issued an alert to all the jawans posted at different places in the district.

Station House Officer (SHO) of Ram Janmabhoomi police station Sanjeev Kumar Singh said they have registered a case and are investigating.

Efforts are on to ascertain the identity of the caller, he added.
