Vadodara: They are called Vighnaharta – Protector from all evils. And this time, Lord Ganesha will also protect his devotees from coronavirus – at his pandal in Ellora Park. To receive extra powerful divine blessings, come to the pandal organized by Indraprastha Yuvak Mandal To visit and vaccinate at the Kovid vaccination camp during Ganesha Chaturthi this year.
“The government has been making efforts for the last several months to vaccinate as many people as possible. So, we decided to organize a vaccination camp at our pandal. People visiting our Ganesh pandal and living in the area can get the vaccine,” said Tarang Shah, president of Indraprastha Yuva Mandal, which was set up seven years ago.
“What better place to get a Covid vaccine than in the presence of the Divine who is the remover and protector of all obstacles. We would urge the devotees who are yet to take covid shots, to get vaccinated,” Shah told TOI.
Organizers have already contacted Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) will set up a nine-day camp at their pandal. “We have got a positive response from the VMC,” Shah said.
Mandal’s vice-president Ashray Shah said that they will also organize medical camps for three days in different slum areas to ensure that citizens remain safe from dengue and other infections.
“The country has faced immense hardships in the last 18 months due to the Covid pandemic. We are fortunate to have got permission to celebrate Ganesh Utsav this year, so we aim to ensure the safety of devotees through our pandals.
Indraprastha Yuva Mandal will also facilitate immersion of clay idols in an artificial pond near the pandal.
“Only those people who have received at least one dose of the vaccine will be allowed to immerse the idols of Ganesha in the tank,” Shah said.
