Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Pathan’ has become the highest-grossing Hindi film in India, the superstar’s wife Gauri Khan expressed happiness. Sharing the box-office numbers, Gauri wrote, “Record breaking streak… #Pathan.”
On 3 March, ‘Pathan’ broke the record of ‘Baahubali 2’ and emerged as the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on Twitter, “#Pathaan #Tamil + #Telugu [Week 5] Fri 2 lakhs, Sat 3 lakhs, Sun 5 lakhs, Mon 2 lakhs, Tues 2 lakhs, Wed 2 lakhs, Guru 2 lakhs. Total: Rs 18.24 crore. The Hindi lifetime collection of Bahubali 2 was Rs 510.99 crore. Beating the Hindi collections of SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali’, ‘Pathan’ director Siddharth Anand expressed his happiness on Twitter. He tweeted, “Crossed the lifetime collection of #Bahubali2 in Hindi. Proud moment for me…!!! Thank you once again to all the viewers who encouraged the film #Pathan.”
‘Pathan’, which released on January 25, also stars John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana. Produced by Yash Raj Films, the film is written by Sridhar Raghavan. The film’s team recently hosted a success party where Shah Rukh, Deepika and Siddharth shared their experiences of coming together as Pathan.
He said, “It is good to be back. I am in no hurry to finish the film. It has always been my desire to make films for entertainment and to spread happiness among people. Whenever I fail to do that, I feel like No one feels bad.” I am very happy that I could spread happiness and especially for those who are close to my heart – Aditya Chopra and Siddharth. Expensive movie. But for having me and giving me a chance to come when I was not working and allow me to be a part of this film. I will always be grateful to Aditya Chopra and Siddharth. And Deepika too. I have forgotten those 4 years in these 4 days.”
