For many people in and around Rathinapuri in Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), Hariprasad’s Instagram profile is the ultimate restaurant rating platform. Hariprasad is a local food vlogger, who is still on his way to achieving greater heights. Right from small roadside joints to big restaurants, he visits them, tastes their food and posts his reviews on his Instagram page. Many of the locals around Rathinapuri follow his Insta handle and look forward to his honest food reviews. His handle goes by the name ‘Coimbatore Originals’.
Many local restaurants have credited Hariprasad for giving a reach to their business, by posting about their food on social media. He has helped increase footfall in many of these food joints. Talking about his food review mechanism, Hari Prasad told News18, “I love to eat a lot and it was also my dream to become an anchor since my childhood. Social media has given me an opportunity to do both the things that I love together.”
He further informed News18 that he is an engineering graduate and is currently working as a software engineer in a private company. He said that he makes food review videos during his holidays. Hariprasad added that he had visited restaurants in many areas of Coimbatore and cities like Tirupur, Erode, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Chennai and Bangalore, and reviewed delicacies in more than a thousand joints and restaurants. Currently he has 1.25 lakh followers on Instagram.
He also reveals that he has received full support from his family to start his food review vlog. His friends help him film his videos.
