The actress-cum-Instagram influencer is named Priyanka Kandwal. She was overwhelmed by the compliments that were pouring in on her and hence decided to take more shots similar to Madhubala so that everyone could have more of this ‘Millennials Ki Madhubala’.
When she asked in an interview when she first noticed her similarity with Madhubala, Priyanka had a surprising answer: “The first time was when my sister told me that someone had written on Google ‘Is she from Madhubala’s family?’ Then, when I first watched Mughal-e-Azam, I realised in one scene that there is some similarity.”
Kandwal made her acting debut with the role of Gauri in the famous television serial Pavitra Rishta which aired on Zee TV. She made her film debut in a Kannada film named Neenade Naa. In this film, she played the role of Pavi alongside Prajwal Devaraj and Ankitha in the lead roles.
After this film, Kandwal never got a chance to look back. Her role in this film was also noticed by the South Indian directors. Bindu S was impressed with her work and asked her to do a film with him. This is how she made her debut in Malayalam films. Her second film was named Style in which she played the role of Diya opposite Unni Mukundan. This film was released on 2 January 2016.
