Third Australia-England Ashes T20I in Adelaide washed out by rain

Rain played a poor game for the second consecutive game as the third Ashes T20I between Australia Women and England was washed out without a ball being bowled here on Sunday.

The decision to call off the game was made at 15:00 local time, with both teams receiving one point each from the fixture. Earlier, incessant rain washed out the second T20 match on Saturday after playing 4.1 overs.

As a result of the abandonment, Australia, who won the opening game by nine wickets, hold a 4-2 lead in the multi-format series and can retain the Ashes with a four-point one-off Test victory in Canberra next week.

The two teams will now travel to Canberra on a charter flight on Monday afternoon to begin preparation for the Test at the Manuka Oval starting Thursday.

The Test match is followed by three ODIs of two points each.
