things you can do to fall in love with your own company

We bond and bond throughout life, but our journey is a solo journey. We have come into this world alone and we will die alone. The people we meet along the way are on their way to fulfilling their destiny. While some enjoy their company, others feel haunted just thinking about it.

Extroverts thrive on social attachments and being alone is a nightmare for them as they tend to feel lonely when others are not around. Spending time with yourself will help you grow as a person. This will not only improve your mental health but will also help you learn more about yourself. Recently, in an interview with HT Lifestyle, Dr. Malini Saba, Founder and President of Annanke Foundation, shared some tips to enjoy your company without feeling lonely.

Here are a few suggestions:

1. Develop a New Skill

The reason many people do not like to be alone is because they do not know what to do in their spare time. One can always indulge in a new activity which can be a hobby or anything that attracts your interest, such as cooking, singing, dancing, reading etc. This will help you build a strong bond with yourself.

2. Take a Social Media Detox

Comparing yourself with others can create resentment, which can lead to anxiety and depression. With the immense growth of social media which has connected us with the whole world, the comparison has increased. We need to understand that everyone is different and not everything is true on social media. If you want to be in a happy place, you should detox from social media often and stop comparing yourself to others because you are perfect just as you are.

3. Pamper Yourself

Treat yourself by visiting your favorite restaurant, getting spa treatments, and engaging in activities that make you happy. Go on a solo trip. Take care of your physical health by doing yoga or exercise. Regular exercise is extremely important as it releases endorphins, which reduce stress.
