‘There could have been some wrong decisions, but our intention was never wrong’: HM Amit Shah

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said that some decisions of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government may be wrong but the intention of the ruling government cannot be questioned.

Addressing the 94th Annual General Meeting of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) in the national capital, Shah said, “There could have been some wrong decisions, but one cannot say that our intention was wrong.”

Stating that the intention of the central government has always been right, the home minister said even critics would agree that the country has seen a lot of changes in the last seven years.

“The critics will also agree that the country has seen a lot of changes in the last 7 years. There is no allegation of corruption against our government.

Shah further said that the Center took several policy decisions even during the Covid-19 pandemic, which he said would have a positive impact on the country’s growth and development in the long run.

“I would not be surprised if our economic growth accelerates into double digits,” he said, reported ANI.

Emphasizing on the need for special attention to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, the Home Minister said that it is of utmost importance with respect to addressing the challenges of unemployment.

“Unless we give strength to MSMEs, we cannot solve the problem of unemployment,” he said.

The home minister’s remarks come in the wake of the Union government’s recent decision to repeal three controversial agriculture laws in the wake of a year-long agitation by farmers’ unions.
