The Wharton School Becomes the First Ivy League College to Accept Cryptocurrency Payments as Course Fees

New Delhi: The buzz around cryptocurrency is at a high these days and with the market trends this high is now being accepted by many. Large multinational companies like Microsoft, PayPal are offering crypto as one of the payment options added to the acceptance of virtual digital currencies.

A new addition to the bandwagon is the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. This Ivy League college said that they will accept crypto payments for one of its courses starting January 3, 2022.

The course, namely the Economics of Blockchain and Digital Assets, is a six-week course which is scheduled from January 3, 2022 to February 20, 2022.

The cost of a course with limited intake will be $3,800. Tuition fees can be paid through cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, ethereum and USD coin. The crypto payments will be enabled through CoinBase, an American cryptocurrency exchange platform.

The course has been designed in partnership with Prism Group, a blockchain economic consulting firm, for business and technology professionals wishing to learn about blockchain and digital assets.

Highlights of the course include the introduction of a standard valuation methodology for digital assets – fundamental token valuation (FTV), case studies from seven business schools, and over 50 videos from the lecture program.
