Prayagraj: After 24 hours of relief, the district administration officials on Wednesday issued an alert on rising water level. Ganges And Yamuna Water will increase after 18 lakh cusecs of water is released Chambal River. Officials said the released water would reach the city by August 7.

ADM (Finance and Revenue) MP Singh told TOI that the water level of both Ganga and Yamuna will rise in the coming days as about 18 lakh cusecs of water has been released into the Chambal river. The released water will reach the Yamuna by August 7. He said that on Wednesday both the rivers showed a fast trend.
On Wednesday, the level of Ganga at Phaphamau and Ghatnag was recorded at 80.19 meters and 79.36 meters respectively.
Similarly, the water level of Yamuna at Naini was recorded at 79.79 meters and it is rising. The danger level of both the rivers was 84.73 metres.
Meanwhile, Singh said that the water level of Ganga at Phaphamau and Chhatnag saw an increase of +4 cm and +20 cm at both the sites in the last four hours, while the level of Yamuna river at Naini was also rising by +20 cm. However, he said that a close watch has been kept on development and corrective measures in case the water level of both the rivers rise in the coming days.
