The ‘SoulHealthy’ Guide to Living Longer and Healthier

‘Ideal’ health or wellness is the ability to live a long and healthy life, to prevent disease and, if disease does occur, to be treated and controlled as soon as possible and in the best possible manner.

While the rest of the stakeholders (government, doctors, hospitals, insurance and pharma companies) can help you stay healthy, it can only do so much.

Covid-19 is a classic example. Doctors can treat you when you’re sick, officials can help stop the spread by mandating masks, lockdown and distancing, and protect you by providing vaccines. But, you can be healthy only if you are present with knowledge (enlightenment), protect yourself by wearing a mask and away from potentially dangerous situations (soul safe), and get vaccinated to prevent disease or reduce its severity, if This happens (Atmanivaran), thus becoming self-reliant (Atmanirbhar), the ‘Self’ which includes the people around you, your close family, friends, mentors and the people you trust unconditionally and unconditionally. . It is only by applying these four ‘souls’ that you can hope to live and remain atmasstha (healthy and healthy).

This is not true just for Covid-19 times.

To live long and healthy, we need to focus on 5 key issues which include:

1. Avoiding heart attack (myocardial infarct) and stroke (brain attack).

2. No fall and no fall, no fracture.

3. Preventing dementia and loss of cognition.

4. Preventing and/or detecting cancer early.

5. Preventing infection wherever possible.

To avoid these five major problems, we need to follow this ‘soulhealthy’ guide to live a long, healthy life:

1. Reduce pollution in our life (air, noise, digital).

2. Understand and reduce our cardiovascular risk, including the detection and management of diabetes and hypertension.

3. Moving, moving, moving – in all forms (walking, running, strength training, yoga, etc.).

4. Eat wisely (not a fad diet, more fruits, proper intake of calories) and drink clean water.

5. Get good sleep – 7-9 hours.

6. Screen for cancer where possible.

7. Take Vaccines

8. Remove deficiencies – vitamins, iron, protein.

9. Improve balance, and do not fall and do not fracture when falling.

10. Maintain good hygiene including dental, vision, hearing and timing.

11. Meditate and keep the mind active.

12. Reducing, controlling or eliminating addictions.

13. Manage logistics (insurance, sufficient funds, etc.).

14. Manage aging, death and death.

The main job of clinical doctors is to provide treatment. Hardly a doctor has the time to sit down with you in person, to make sure you live long, healthy and well.

The state (government, insurance companies, etc.) will care for most of its population using only the lowest common denominator (clean water, vaccines, some laws like seat-belts, smoking bans, etc.) that it can afford, It is based on how poor or rich the country is and how vibrant its disease prevention ethos is.

The only person who can make a difference in your own health is you.

This means knowing from blogs/newsletters or similar others what it means to live a long, healthy life and how to go about applying those steps (enlightenment), either on your own or Applying with the help of consultants and even doctors (when you need medicine) to protect yourself from disease (Atmanirbhar) and prevent disease (Atmanirbhar), thus self-reliant (self-reliant) Becoming and not relinquishing the responsibility of your health and well being to doctors, hospitals and governments and gods, religious heads, Baba and Guru.

That doesn’t mean you don’t need doctors and hospitals. If you find that your LDL-C levels remain high despite walking and eating sensibly, you need to talk to your family doctor or cardiologist about starting a statin. If your blood pressure is not under control despite non-pharmacological measures, you need your doctor’s help to begin treatment. If your screening mammogram shows a problem, doctors are needed to help you navigate the situation. If you land with a stroke, you need to get to a good hospital in time.

But otherwise, it is up to you and yourself to learn to be Atmanirbhar so that you can be atmasstha (healthy and healthy).
The purpose of this blog/newsletter is to discuss about our self-health quest which is a longer health span and life span, to live longer, is healthier based on the current state of knowledge, cutting edge science and some common sense.
