The sitcom based on the local bowling champion will premiere on Thursday – Henry’s Club

SAGINAW, Mich. (WNEM) — A local professional bowler is getting the Hollywood treatment — a CBS sitcom based on his incredible true story.

“I think this is exactly the kind of show that should not only forget what the world needs. Pete Holmes, who plays Flushing-native Tom Smallwood in CBS’s new sitcom “How We Role,” said it was that show. That’s the kind of show I’d love to see.

Excited to watch the original Smallwood Show, which premieres Thursday, March 31 at 9:30 p.m.

“It must be good,” Smallwood said. “Talked a lot to the writers. They’re trying to do their best to bowl, you know, like to make it as respectable as possible. ,

As before TV5. was reported byFlushing native and former PBA champion Smallwood is getting a CBS sitcom based on his life.

“So we were very isolated and I got this offer and I was like ‘Oh my god, there are very few multi-cam sitcoms,'” Holmes said. “We opened the script and I think, we said out loud, ‘Please don’t feel bad.'”

Although there is almost a foot difference in height, Holmes felt a shared experience.

Holmes said, “As someone who got divorced and then got into comedy more seriously, I know what it takes to have the trust and support of my friends and family to make my dream come true.”

Saginaw native Brian D’Arcy James is the executive producer of the sitcom.

“Not only the story of Tom but the possibility of telling, you know, the story about my town,” James said. “The place I grew up in, which I love and have great memories of and cherish.”

The real Smallwood is bowling in Las Vegas, but his family is going to watch the premiere with him. It is slated for an 11-episode season.
