Noida/Ghaziabad : positivity rate both in Noida and Ghaziabad There has been a huge drop in the last one month. The current positivity rate, which is 0.3% in both the districts, is the lowest since the outbreak pandemic pandemic In March last year.
Just a month ago, the positivity rate was 9% in Noida and 7.4% in Ghaziabad.
A total of 467 cases have been reported in Ghaziabad so far this month, but only 32 cases have been reported in the last 10 days. Noida has registered only 65 cases during the same period.
While the Covid cases started declining towards the end of May, the positivity rate has declined this month.
The positivity rate in Noida had come down from 12% in April to 9% in May and 0.33% in June.
The figure in June is slightly lower than in February 2021, which had the lowest number of cases (184) this year and a positivity rate of 0.36%. Also, the total tests conducted in February stood at 55,175 as compared to over 1.5 lakh tests in June.
In Ghaziabad, the sample positivity rate was less than 1% in the first three months of this year, but recorded a huge increase during the second wave in April-May. However, the drop in the positivity rate in June is as dramatic as it was just two months ago.
From just 0.7% in March to 8% in April, that figure had risen 11 times. This was when Ghaziabad conducted over 1.5 lakh tests, almost double the March figure of 87,810.
Ghaziabad Chief Medical Officer Dr NK Gupta said that the department will continue with the present rate of testing as it helps in mapping the COVID spread in the district.
