According to a bulletin of the state health department, the total number of corona cases in the state stood at 15,29,295 as of 9 am on Monday. 565 new victims have been identified in the last 24 hours. In the last 24 hours, the maximum number of 69 new victims have been reported in North 24 Parganas. 61 people were infected in Kolkata, 49 in Darjeeling, 48 in Nadia and 40 in Hooghly. Apart from this, one in North Dinajpur and one in Murshidabad, two in Malda and three in Purulia were found infected with corona.
On Monday, however, the daily death toll dipped slightly. Twelve people have died of coronary heart disease in the last 24 hours. On Sunday the number was 13. At least three people have died in Nadia in the last 24 hours. Two people each died in Jalpaiguri and South 24 Parganas.
