On Tuesday, the number was 63. The maximum number of 96 corona cases were reported in North 24 Parganas on Wednesday. Apart from this 63 people in East Midnapore, 6 in Kolkata, 64 in Darjeeling, 51 in Nadia, 49 in Hooghly, 48 in Howrah and 42 in West Midnapore have been newly infected with Corona. The daily number of attacks in Dakshin Dinajpur (five), Malda (six) and Purulia (two) has been found to be below 10.
The number of daily casualties as well as the number of daily deaths has come down. Fourteen people died on Wednesday. Sixteen people died on Tuesday. The highest death toll was three in Nadia on Wednesday. Two deaths have been reported in Darjeeling, North 24 Parganas and Kolkata. Apart from this, one has died in Birbhum, two in Midnapore, one in North Dinajpur and Howrah. Overall, the death toll from corona in the state stood at 18,958 (1.19 per cent).
In the last 24 hours, 1,171 people have been cured. On Tuesday, the number was 1.17. A total of 14,72,203 people (98.96 percent) have lost their lives in the state at present. The number of active patients has decreased due to the increase in the number of healthy patients as compared to infected patients daily. The number of active victims in the last 24 hours has gone up to 12,984.
