I didn’t watch the original series because I had different people saying to me, ‘Oh , You’re playing Olivia Colman!’ It scared me a bit. She continues, “As long as I live, I also hope that I will never be satisfied with what I know and what I feel I know. I truly yearn to understand and learn And I am very curious about new things. That would be a far cry from who I am. If I can do it and go that long in my mind, I think it would be very challenging to play a character like Shelley. I don’t know if I will be able to succeed or not, but it will be worth a try (smiles),” said the actress, who made her acting debut with filmmaker Mira Nair’s Monsoon Wedding (2001).
