Indian Army’s supreme officer General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat and 11 other army officers were on their way in a MI-17V5 helicopter to attend a program in Coonoor on December 8. This helicopter crashed in the forests of Coonoor, just 7 minutes away from Wellington airbase. In this accident, 13 people including General Rawat, wife Madhulika were killed. The only survivor in this accident is Group Captain Varun Singh, who is undergoing treatment in Bengaluru with about 85 per cent burns.

After this the sound of explosion is heard. A group of men and women who made this video are also seen in it, who were standing on a railway track in the forest. Later the information about the person who made this video was revealed.

The video was made by Y.Jo Paul alias Kutty, a Coimbatore-based photographer, who was on a vacation with his friends and family in the forest of Katteri area of ​​Hili Nilgiri district at that time. In a conversation with a media house, 52-year-old Kutty had told that at the time of the crash, he was shooting a photo with his friend Nasir and family on the railway track built on the mountains in Kateri.

Police made mobile part of investigation
The investigation of this accident is being done by a high-level committee on behalf of the Army, which is being led by an Air Marshal. But the Hilli Nilgiri District Police is also investigating the incident at its level. According to a Deccan Herald report, a local police officer said on Sunday that Kutty’s mobile phone has been confiscated and her forensic examination is being conducted. This mobile phone is now part of the investigation.

Police are also probing why the photographer and others had gone to the area, which is a very dense forest and there is a restriction on the movement of any outside human beings due to the heavy presence of wild animals.
