Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files has emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters post the coronavirus pandemic. Amidst all this, the makers of the film have now clarified that Akshay was never approached for Kashmir Files.
“Akshay Kumar was not approached for the film,” Abhishek Agarwal told BollywoodHungama.com. “As far as Darshan’s role is concerned, we had shortlisted a few names, but Vivek was like, ‘I want this guy to play this role’. He was very specific. So we brought Darshan on board, said the producer.
Moreover, Abhishek Agarwal also spoke about the success of The Kashmir Files and revealed that even though he was expecting the film to do good business, he never thought of receiving such an overwhelming response. Was. “When we were making the film, we knew there would be a reaction to it, but it would be slow. We thought it would eventually pick up the pace, but the reaction from the people who have loved the film from day one was not something that we should have liked. There was hope,” he revealed.
He further said that the film was ‘Dil Se Bani’ and mentioned that the experience of shooting for it was very emotional. “I am enjoying the spirit of giving justice to the people. The Kashmir Files has been a very emotional journey. We were so attached to the film, every artist, every technician; We never worked with the idea of making money. We wanted something to come out of this film. I think when you watch the film it comes out that it is made from the heart,” said Agarwal.
Abhishek also shared how a woman used to get food for the crew during the shooting days and revealed how she wanted to feed everyone with her own hands. “You know, when we were filming, a local lady used to feed us. Also, it was not just for a couple of us but for the entire crew. She was so impressed that we were making this film, she wanted to feed us with her hands to express it. I am just a medium for the suffering people out there, I am glad that I could be their voice.
As for the unversed, The Kashmir Files was released on March 11. It depicts the story of exodus of Kashmiri Pandits and has so far earned over Rs 300 crore worldwide.
