Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Friday said that parks will be set up across the state as healthy health is paramount in the modern era due to rapidly changing lifestyles. He was responding to a demand put by state Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal for a park in Bathinda along the Bathinda branch canal. Greeting the people on the occasion of Dussehra, the Chief Minister described the festival as “a symbol of the victory of good over evil”.

He said that urban development is the focus area for him and for this he has a roadmap, which includes strong sewerage system, huge market space and parks. “The benefits of all government schemes should reach the final beneficiary without any hassle,” he said.

Dedicating the martyr Sepoy Sandeep Singh Memorial Chowk at Paras Ram Nagar to the public, Channi said that he felt blessed to meet the parents of the martyr who died in the service of the nation on 2nd August 1999 at Surankote, Jammu and Kashmir. Huh.

Earlier, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the restoration work of canal lining and Bathinda branch at a cost of Rs 30 crore. Apart from this, he also laid the foundation stone of Balwant Gargi Multipurpose Auditorium at Rose Garden, Bathinda, which will come up in two acres with a seating capacity of 928 and open air seating capacity of 120 at a cost of Rs 27.15 crore. an official statement.

Meanwhile, in a separate function, Channi announced several development projects to ensure the overall development of Sri Chamkaur Sahib and Morinda.

Addressing a public meeting on the occasion of Dussehra, he announced that the Community Health Center at Chamkaur Sahib would be upgraded to a 100 bedded hospital and a trauma center would soon come up at Morinda. He also announced to upgrade animal husbandry dispensaries in rural areas across the state to ensure better health facilities to improve the quality of livestock to increase the income of dairy farmers.

Channi also announced a sewage project for Morinda at a cost of Rs 42 crore, besides a Rs 28 crore canal based drinking water supply scheme for Morinda, which has already been approved.
