Amid the pandemic, the multi-starrer featuring Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Javed Jaffrey and Yami Gautam skipped theatrical release. Saif plays the role of Vibhuti and Arjun Chironji in the film. They are desi ‘Tantrik Babas’ like Ghost Busters who are hired for a job at a haunted private property. After watching the movie, one cannot realize how this Bollywood movie borrows the scenes from Hollywood horror movies that have been released in the past.

The Exorcist (1973) is a film defining the genre in horror. It has the iconic Spider Walk scene where an possessed Regan (Linda Blair) descends a flight of stairs while leaning backwards. Whenever it is reused in other films it is immediately remembered. In Ghost Police, when Maya (Yami Gautam) is near Kichkandi, she performs the famous spider walk.

When Maya is first found possessed by her sister Kanika (Jacqueline Fernandez), she slowly bangs her head on a door. Kanika walks up to him in a frightened state and learns that Maya is not normal as her face is exposed. In The Conjuring (2013), directed by James Wan, Cindy is seen banging her head on the cupboard in a trance state. It is later revealed that he has been subdued. There is a similar scene in the 2013 film Dark Skies.
