Here a railway police officer has been sent on the line after a video in which an elderly ticket collector accusing him of boarding a train went viral on social media.

According to Patna SP (Railways) Pramod Kumar Mandal, accused Sunil Kumar Singh was posted as sub-inspector in-charge of GRP station in Bakhtiyarpur and the incident took place in Intercity Express on Wednesday.

“We have only the sub-inspector’s version as of now, who has received injuries in the scuffle and is undergoing treatment. The FIR has been registered on the basis of his statement that senior TTE Dinesh Kumar Singh had earlier offered him a seat but suddenly asked him to rise later when he wanted to oblige a friend,” Mandal said on Thursday. told PTI-Bhasha.

The sub-inspector expressed displeasure over the behavior of the TTE, who allegedly thrashed him along with his friends, the SP said, adding that by the time the train reached Bakhtiyarpur, the GRP personnel had come to know about the incident.

“Out of anger, the GRP personnel set off on the TTE. We are yet to receive the copy of the FIR lodged by TTE in this regard. A thorough investigation will be conducted keeping both the sides in mind.”

A video of TTE, after the incident, crying and alleging that the GRP was refusing to register an FIR based on her complaint, has been uploaded on social media and is being circulated by various news outlets.

Mandal, however, said that the TTE has been directed to register a zero FIR in whichever GRP police station the complaint is lodged. “We will proceed with an investigation.”
