Gurgaon: City A Mega Covid-19 . gearing up for vaccination campaign on Friday. Gurgaon aims to cover 60,000 recipients in the campaign, for which more than 150 session venue will be installed.
Each session site will administer 60% of the vaccine shots to those receiving the second dose, while 40% of the jabs will be reserved for those receiving their first dose.
Recipients can walk in online or book their slots through the Co-WIN portal. For the drive, Gurgaon is expected to get 80,000 Covishield doses soon.
Five dedicated Covaxin sites will be established specifically for second dose recipients. The event will be part of a statewide campaign. Haryana A total of 7 lakh vaccinations are targeted on Friday.
“We will set up session venues on Mega Vaccination Day, especially for the second dose. Our target is to give 36,000 second doses on Friday. We aim to launch the campaign from 7.30 am to 5.30 pm, subject to the availability of vaccines. We will also set up camps in areas where session sites were organized before June 3,” said Dr Virendra Yadav, chief medical officer, Gurgaon.
Meanwhile, 15,699 people in the age group of 18-44 got vaccinated on Tuesday. In the over 45 class, 3,058 people took shots. In total, 19,485 jabs were administered. A total of 10,101 first dose and 9,384 second dose recipients were given in the city on Tuesday.
In Gurgaon, 22,28,139 doses have been given since January 16, when the city started the COVID vaccination. Of these, 16,33,928 are the first dose and 5,94,211 are the second dose. Based on the 2011 census, Gurgaon has an estimated total population of 17,41,000 eligible for vaccination. So, 93.8% of the eligible population has received at least the first dose, and 34.1% have received both doses so far. Haryana’s vaccination coverage crossed the 1.50 crore mark on Tuesday, with 2.17 lakh people taking the shot.
7 new cases surfaced in the city
The city recorded seven new Covid cases on Tuesday, taking the caseload to 1,81,032, of which 74 are active cases. The positivity rate is 0.1%. Seven Kovid patients were cured on Tuesday, taking the total number of recoveries to 1,80,036. The recovery rate is 99.6%. A total of 67 patients are in home isolation, while seven are in hospitals.
Meanwhile, Haryana recorded 18 new Covid cases, one death and 21 recoveries on Tuesday.
