Ludhiana: A doctor narrowly escaped when his car fell into the Sidhwan canal near Isewal bridge on Tuesday afternoon.
On alert, Dr Alka of DMC Hospital broke a window pane to come out and was saved by passersby.
Raghunath Enclave Police Outpost ASI Amarjeet Singh said, “On receiving information that a car has fallen in Sidhwan, we rushed to the spot, though this area does not come under our jurisdiction. Doctor Alka was on her way to Isewal from Firozpur road when she lost control of her car and fell into the water.
“The doctor broke a windowpane and climbed onto the roof of the car and passersby came to rescue him. The car has been brought out. No railings have been installed along the canal, due to which the accident took place.”
